my sis is getting married on the 26dec and a lot has been done on my part. i've been following my parents to distribute all the wedding cards.being the secretary, for each of the houses, i'll have to take out my pen and write down all the various recipients' names. this kind of practice is called MENJEMPUT in malay. as you all know, nothing in this world comes F.O.C. as such, being a "secretary"has been a rewarding experience. since it is a MENJEMPUT-CUM-JALAN RAYA thingy, i got green packets...which i regard as my salary.the funny thing is, my employers don't pay me but the recipients instead. my salary varies---> sometimes $4 or $5 for each house.
the next thing in line is the inadequancy of manpower to help me with the BERKATs, which are actually door gifts that guests receive when they attend traditional malay weddings, be it in a hotel or at HDB void decks.
most of the time, i single-handedly don the BERKATs. so that means i'll take a longer time to decorate the BERKATs.currently, we(referring to my siblings and my mum) have finished abt 500 to 600 BERKATs.
we have abt 600 more to go...mind you...and the date is ard the corner..
seriously,guys n gals, next time u're getting married, please buy ready-made BERKATs.
realisation struck me: my sis, hus the one getting married--->is not putting much effort into the wedding preparations.MY PARENTS HAVE TO DISTRIBUTE ALL THE CARDS TO OUR RELATIVES. and ME N OTHER SIBLINGS HAVE TO GRAPPLE with the BERKATs. plus, when it comes to choosing who to invite and whatsoever, arguments heated up btwn my parents.often,i have to endure all those torturous moments...haiz...be it in the car( we dun hav a car...we borrow my aunts hs) or taxi, or at our hs...
you must be wondering where i am now...well dont be surprise, i'm at my uncle's hs..merempat. mentang2 takde internet connection.ok la...i gueess tts all tt i hav to say abt weddings n stuff....
